    Crate Pooping Puppy
I have a 10 week old Sheltie that I got two weeks ago from the breeder. For two whole weeks, this puppy was a breeze, and refused to go potty in her kennel. All of a sudden, she decided to start pooping in her kennel. And then basically bathe herself in her own feces two nights in a row. It doesn't matter if she's been in there a long time, or a short time either. Yesterday she was in her kennel while I was cleaning the house, about a 30 minute period, and she pooped in there in that time too.

I just don't know what to do. I take her outside before she gets put in her kennel and she poops EVERY TIME.

    Any ideas?

Yeah I have a little chiuaua and she does that. We keep her outside during the day. Then bring her in at night but before we bring her inside we make sure she uses the bathroom. But she will end up pooping and peeing in her kennel. And she sleeps in my room so I have to smell it and it's a horrible smell. And I have to. Im the one touching turds and fonky pee. But I don't think you can fix this problem cause if she has to go she will go. So all can tell you is just keep cleaning it. When you let her use it

How big is your kennel? It should only be big enough for her to comfortably lie down in.

Sorry I didn't finish but when you take her out to use the bathroom before you put her in the kennel. That is going to help because you will noctice lesser pee/poo. But she's just a puppy just wait and see how things go. Goodluck.

It is. It's a cat carrier, that worked more than perfectly for my two pom puppies. My sheltie is going to outgrow it soon, I'm sure. :p

What kind of feeding schedule do you have her on? How many treats does she get?

Fool her. Put her in the Kennel for about 10 min. Take her outside for a while. Back in kennel for 10 min and outside for a while. Make sure she moves around outside the second time especially.
