    Wrongful termination
I was terminated after 1 month of employment without any explanation as to why, without any information on my benefits of which they took over $350 out of my last paycheck, and without a final paycheck. I was told I had to wait a week for it. I have personal opinions as to why I was fired, but I'm pretty sure how I was terminated was wrong especially since I relocated for this position. What do I do?

    Hello c:

Irrespective of the fact that you relocated, if you don't also have an employment contract or aren't a member of a union, or a protected class of workers, you are working "at will". That's a legal term meaning they can fire you at any time, for any reason whatsoever, or for no reason at all. They can't lie, though.

If you're fired, they have to give you your last paycheck within 72 hours of being fired. They also owe you an accounting of your deductions. If your paystub doesn't spell it out, I'd write them a letter. Send it certified, return receipt requested.

Actually no excon, the 72 is only in some states, in many they just have to give the check on the normal payroll date

And they just don't "take money" for beinifits, you sign up for them when you start work,

But they can fire you if they want for any reason as long as it is not a protected right, race, religion, and so on

I would have to assume it would be something serious if they did it only after a month, and they had you move for the job
