    Self-Employed Painter and W-2 Form
On schedule C, I understand about cost of goods, expenses.

But, what about the W-2 form, if your working for yourself?

Do you send yourself a W-2

    Hi, pastor1189!

Since your question is mainly about taxes, I've moved it to this forum topic area where it will be much more likely to be noticed and answered by our Tax Experts.

    Thanks!

If you are self-employer and filing Form 1040 with Schedules C and SE, no W-2 is required.

The only time a W-2 is needed is if you are operating the business as a corporation who acts as your employer. A corporation is a separate legal entity in the eyes of the law and IRS which must generate a W-2 to document your salary while working for the corporation.
