Okay.. Going on three weeks ago I stayed with a friend at her college. Friday night we went to her friends' dorm. They were smoking marijuana, and we had some vodka. The time span is 8-12ish. I had around eight shots (my sister's estimate), very quickly. Then I wanted to try the marijuana, so I had a few hits for the first time.

Then the one guy told me to put *something* under my lip while I smoked. That's my question. I can't remember what it looked like or where he got it or exactly what he said about it. It was not a pouch, and it stuck to my lip, so I had to push it down. I thought it was marijuana.. I got pretty sick. I threw up a lot and I was confused when I was aware because I didn't understand how I should be so messed up-everyone else was fine. When I described it to my sister and her boyfriend later, they became convinced it was acid. Now my friend, though she did not see me put *it* under my lip, swears he's not a jerk and doesn't do acid and wouldn't have given me acid without telling me and she wouldn't have let me do it.. etc.



I'm aware I'm an idiot. I just would like to know if it's likely to have been acid or marijuana or whether there's something known for being used in conjunction with marijuana, placed under the iip? What's the most likely scenario?

Or should I just accept I'll never know, since the whole incident caused a fight with my friend, and I'm not about to ask the guy? Thanks.

It could have been Acid, but if your friend isn't on your side when you said something happened to you, then I think it's time to find a new friend.

Thank you for that. I told her I didn't want anything to do with her after I found out she was talking badly of me about the incident behind my back. I have to decide if 15 years of friendship outweighs her hipocricy and cruelty. I felt as though she was much more concerned about her image than my well being.

That's why I'm here. So much conflicting information, and you guys are as close to experts as I will get. I can accept that to be the case, but then what did I put under my lip?

I was told acid can be taken in under your lip by my sister's boyfriend and son who smoke (very rarely for her boyfriend) and I think have done acid. My sister claims that if it was marijuana, it wouldn't have done anything to me under my lip or if I swallowed it unless I swallowed a large amount. I had to present on LSD in middle school health, and I still don't know.

Last bit of missing information (I think) that I left out to save space: The next night I smoked with my sister's boyfriend and son and had a few glasses of wine. I didn't drink as fast, but I smoked more, and ultimately I didn't get sick and I'm sure of everything that night. Would one night/a different drink make that much of a difference?

I have no idea what the lip thing was either, and I've been around it for over thirty years. But I will tell you, that 8 shots of liquor, and smoking weed, especially GOOD herb, will make you sick like that.

Never, ever, take something that you don't know what it is.

Sounds like acid to me. It is usually a tiny piece of paper that is better absorbed under your tongue or between your lip and gums.

I would think you'd know whether you took acid or not, and I'd hope there isn't anyone out there that is mean enough to slip someone a hit without telling them what it is.

My two best guesses it was one of those SNUS from Camel but you say it wasn't a pouch, or it could be an "OC pop", OxyContin (or Codone, forget which) it's on a stick and you rub it on your gums, he could'be broken off the tip and gave that to you. It could be anything and I'm probably way off, but it's worth a shot.

Yep, she probably likes the guy too, but is more concerned with that then being a good friend. If she was really there for you, she'd at least back you up, and she's not, which means she isn't your friend because she values the friendship.

My boyfriend has had a friend since they were in diapers, they used to be best friends, he's 19 now and they barely speak, and he doesn't consider them good friends anymore because this friend doesn't hold to values and doesn't have the best moral fiber.
Just an example, you can be friends with someone your whole life, but it doesn't mean it's a good or valuable relationship.

There is a common misbelief out there, propounded by the drug warriors no doubt, that drug users regularly "slip" stuff into people's drinks or food. They think drug users "hook" their victims that way.

I'm here to tell you that it's a myth. It's actually, quite silly.

That's not to say that there aren't mean people out there who do mean things to others. But, if they do, it's because they're mean - not because they're drug users..

Besides, drugs cost too much money to give away to people who don't want 'em.

I don't blame the guy. He was just excited because I was so willing about everything. I didn't even question what he gave me, which was very stupid, but then I thought it was marijuana for whatever reason. He got more than he deserved when I got sick, anyhow..

I'm confident he told me to put *this* under my lip while I smoked. He either said it's supposed to make you really high or it will make you really high or it will make you hallucinate. And I go from thinking it had the texture of bark to it being light like a thin seed. I've been over it so many times, that I'm no longer sure. Part of me even thought he fished it out of the pipe (bowl, whatever), but that doesn't make sense because we'd already been smoking, so wouldn't it be hot? I don't even remember taking it out, whatever it was. It makes me wonder if I imagined the whole thing, but why would I think it happened the next day if it hadn't?

I don't remember hallucinating either, but I'm not really sure of too much after smoking, except getting sick a lot and laying on the floor because moving my head made me nautious.



As for my friend ohsohappy, I agree. She's done so much worse, so much more dangerous, than me, but she condemns me for getting sick. I felt really bad about it to begin with, and she only made me feel worse. I am going to talk to her probably, though, after Christmas.

I don't think there's going to be total agreement. It would just be nice to have a good idea, and I'd feel less bad about getting so sick if it was acid. Then again, everyone knew going in I didn't really drink and had never tried any recreational drugs.

There's absolutely NO reason to feel BAD about getting sick, the only thing you're guilty of is irresponsible behavior, which you are aware of, so I'm not going to lecture you, but really, I'd be more worried if you weren't getting sick from it, because it would mean that either you're dead, or an alien. :p
Anyway, just use better judgement in the future so that these types of situations are avoided altogether.

Just learn from this and move on. You are not the first person who has gotten sick from booze and weed, and you won't be the last. Maybe you did take something other than those two, maybe not, but the most important thing is be responsible, and never, ever, ingest something that you don't know the contents of. Especially because you are female, and there are guys out there that have to use drugs to get laid. I'm not meaning to sound sexist, but date rape drugs are primarily used on females.

The next time that you are at a college party, look around. I'd bet that 95% of the people there have hurled more than once. Your "friend" is no friend if she doesn't support you.

Have fun, but be responsible.

By nature, humans are curious and cave in to peer pressure. But that doesn't mean that you have to do EVERYTHING that you see others do.

Drugs are dangerous, especially homemade ones.

Good thoughts.

Update: Today I fixed things with my friend. It was a big misunderstanding. She did tell that other girl about the events of that night and how I smoked again, but it was the other girl who condemned me for it because she has personal issues with marijuana and such. She told my other friend that the friend I just made up with agreed that I was a horrible excuse for a human being (in so many words) because she took my friend's lack of response/argument as assent. Confusing, but things are okay, and I'm happy about that.


Also, still no idea what I put under my lip, but it did happen! My friend said he got it from a bag and told me it would make me really high if I put it under my lip. She still doesn't think it was acid (probably wasn't), but she doesn't know what it looks like. It doesn't matter anymore. Whatever it was, they spilled it accidentally and he got mad haha.


And I was happy to know the guys would have let me sleep it off on the floor like I wanted to in my stupor because moving made me ill. It was my friend that wouldn't leave me because she was afraid I'd wake up and not know where I was or something. I'm glad to know they weren't so repulsed and angry with me that they wanted me out, as I originally surmised.

Oh, and my friend was only angry/upset with me because she saw herself in me from all the awful things she did that summer when drinking, and she didn't like it. She said she was more mad at the situation. And everything is fine with her friends regardless.

So everything is fine now with that, and I'll never know for sure what I had. :) Thanks again.
