How much should an gfi outlet cost to install
What is the average cost to install a gfi outlet in a bathroom with it's own line.

Is there already a "line" circuit to the bathroom and are they merely taking out a non GFCI plug and replacing with a GFCI one?

There is no average cost, due to various prices of labor and materials in different parts of the country.

This is something you can do on your own if you know how to turn a screwdriver. Home depot offers very good instruction on the removal and installation of GFCI outlets. You'll also need an inexpensive tester. Will take no more than 30 minutes per GFCI outlet.
