I have a 7 amp 120 V power drill, 3000 MAX RPMs which I want to use in the UK which has 200 V outlets. What kind of step down converter do I need, how many watts will it have to handle?

Power is the formula P = I X E and is best resolved by simply taking the 7 A and multiplying it with 120 V to yield 840 watts. Converters exist though I question their viability with motor-driven items

A transformer is a transformer. They are used in the distribution system in the US all over.

While true, P=VI, the drill is an inductor and it needs much more than the P=VI formula. I would recommend a 1200 to 1500 W converter.
