    Service Panel - Access
Is there any way to install finish trim around the basement service panel? I'm refinishing a basement bedroom with wallboard. Along one wall are two closets with that gray service panel between them. What kind of access to the service panel is required and does anyone have any suggestions for creatively hiding or trimming around it? Thanks in advance.

Usually a piece of plywood with hinges is the norm. Then its paint the same as the wall to help "hide" it.

I've seen all types of different ways. Do what you want just make sure its accessible in an emergency.

Why don't you just make the Panel a part of the closet?the doors into the closet will hide it and you can get to it with ease?

Keep in mind, Panelboards are not allowed in clothes closets.

I would continue the partition in line with the left and right closet, and install a door identical to the closets, creating a utility closet for the panel. Leave the interior of the utility closet unfinished.

We all do it from time to time, but it is always funnier when it happens to someone else. :D
