Will my daughters pierced ears close off if I leave the earrings out.
My daughter had her ears pierced 7 months ago. She has not worn earrings for about two month. The placement of the holes is a little off. I was hoping they would totally close and we could re pierce. It does not look like the holes are closing. Will they totally close if we give it more time.

They usually will, but some heal faster then others.

If I left my daughters earrings out for more then 2 days they'd already be closed to the point of it hurting to put the earrings in.

Others, like me, can leave the holes earring free for months and they don't close in at all. I once left my earrings out for a full year and was still able to put the earrings back in without a problem.

One of my ear piercings was always slightly askew and I wanted the hole to close up so I could get it re- pierced. I didn't wear earrings for about 5 years and eventually the holes closed up and I had them re-pierced. It was worth it because now my earings hang the same way on both ears.

How old is she? The younger she is, the longer it'll take for them to close completely. Little kids heal quickly, which means that piercings heal faster and take longer to close up.

My ears were pierced as an infant. There have been times I've gone years without wearing earrings, and my ears have never even started to close. I think, that since I was so young, that my body no longer remembers that the holes aren't naturally there.
