Help setting up plumbing for new HE washer

I am redoing my plumbing for our new HE washer and the drain now is 1.5" also the same drain for the kitchen sink going approx. 10' to the main drain for the whole house which is a 6" black pipe with only a hole for a 1.5" line, My question is can I put a adapter in the 1.5" hole for 3" pvc and run the 3" approx 10' to the washer area and then down size it to a 2" line for the washer so it won't backwash?

You can try but you're still choking down the drain line to 1 1/2" at the 4 X 1/1/2" tapped tee. You say the kitchen also shares this drain line. Do you have a garbage disposal installed? Let me know , Tom

No disposal and yes the washer and kitchen sink use the same drain

Your best bet would be to replace the old tapped tee with a 4 X 2" Tapped Sanitary tee, ( I don't know of any 4 X3" tapped tees) and comeoff it with a 2" drain to pick up both fixtures.
If you don't want the hassle of replacing the tapped tee then I'd convert to PVC using a 1 1/2 PVC
thread to slip adapter, a short piece of 1 1/2" PVC and a 1 1/2X 3 Slip by slip reducer Or a 2 X 3" reducer bushed down to 1 1/2" and continue on to pick the sink with a 3 X 2 Combination wye and eighth bend and then continue on with 3" to pick up the washer. The reason being that you're gonna need all the volume you can get to offset the 1 1/2" at the tee. Sound like a plan?

This is the kitchen drain coming through the wall and going down to attach to the washer drain under the concrete floor

So are you saying to come off the black pipe main with a threaded coupler to 1 1/2" and a 6" long pvc pipe with a 1 1/2" to 3" and run it back to the washer area and pick up the sink and the washer, So do you think that would still back up or would that do?

Show me a picture of the kitchen sink trap. Is it vented?

I exposed the main drain outside and this is where it connects to the clay tile going to the street, would it be best to put a Y or a T here and go through the block and start from scratch.

I think that would be a very good idea... able to keep it code legal that way! Let us know if you need help cutting into that clay pipe!

Use a WYE FITTING and clay pipe to PVC fernco clamps.
