New pressure tank one intake; old tank has 2
My pump is cycling on/off rapidly. I want to replace old 33 gal. bladder tank with used one.Leaks at air inlet and will not hold air in bladder. My old tank has two pipes, one intake from the pump and one goes to service the house. The newer tank(air-e-tainer 33 gal) only has one inlet total.
This is a well water system, and my pressure gauge and pressure switch are on the 1/3 HP jet pump(shur-dri). This pump is less than 2 years old.
Is it required to place another pressure gauge and pressure switch on a 'T' to the intake of the Air-e-tainer tank?

Your new tank will be configured in this way:

You might be able to save yourself a little trouble. If the tank is leaking at the air valve, that would explain it becoming waterlogged. You can replace the little screw-in portion of the valve. That might stop your air leak and solve the problem.

Your first concern should be to replace the leaky snifter valve on top of the bladder tank. If that's not replaced and the tank pressure set at 2 PSI under the cut in point of the control box you might just as well not install it at all. Good luck, Tom
