We recently remodeled our kitchen and had to move the gas line for the stove. I bought a BrassCraft installation kit to reconnect the stove but the flexible pipe connection at the stove (not the shut-off) prevents the stove from being pushed back far enough. This leaves a gap at the adjacent countertops near the backsplash where stuff can fall through. Is this normal? It's been a couple months since our kitchen was torn apart so I don't remember what it looked like before! I was thinking there may be a 90 degree fitting I could put on the stove that would allow it to be pushed back another inch or two.

Rather than connecting the CSST directlt to the stove you can start with a black iron 90 elbow pointing straight down.

That is a wonderful idea! I always have problems finding the right fittings. Do you think this is something a HD or Lowe's would have? Also, to clarify, I would connect this black iron fiting directly to the stove's regulator (at least that's what I think it is)? Then the flexible pipe will connect to the other side of the black iron fitting. I can picture it in my head and that will certainly work if I can find the right fitting. Thank you ballengerb1.

Yes, Home Depot / Lowe's carry 1/2" 90 elbows. Screw it directly onto the stoves pipe pointing down. Attach gas-flex it.

Now, is your gas valve also sticking too far ?

No, the gas shut-off is coming up through the floor, but at the base of the wall (actually had to notch the drywall for it). This points up so no elbow needed there. Thanks for the reply! And Happy Holidays to all.

Wish I could see a closer pic of what you have. Maybe a brass 90 elbow connector would work even better than a black iron elbow.

Well, I picked up a 90 degree black iron elbow and a close nipple. This worked like a charm! The stove is very near the wall, no gaps for stuff to fall behind now. Much appreciated all for the help!
