My internet connection is extremely slow and I almost always get an error message that the page cannot be displayed. This is using IE 7. When using Mozilla the message is that the site is taking too long or can't be found. Comcast was at my house and did a test on my PC and a mac I never use. Mac passed with flying colors, PC failed. What can I do?

It's very possible that your computer is infected by something. Grab a free copy of Active ports to see if something odd is chewing up bandwidth.

Spyware, virus or something even more dangerous like something has control over your PC and is doing illegal remote filesharing of movies etc.

Another possibility is a bad ethernet cable or router port.

Thanks. The cable and connection must be fine since the Mac works well on that connection. Guess a virus is the other possibility. I'll get help with that I guess.
