I have just bought a Duer log splitter with a 5 hp Briggs & Stratton which doesn't want to run.Has any one had experience replacing these with a Honda with more power?

Hondas with no power is fuel system related. The carb could easily have dirty jets; but another place to look is the fuel shutoff which has a metal screen above the sediment bowl. I have even seen them plug in the shutoff itself.
Got some letters/numbers off the engine if I need to be more specific?
