    Proving a Parent Unfit
We have no custody established yet. I have filed with the courts. I am currently satying in an extended stay hotel w a kitchen and such... while I look for something permanent. By my current living situation, can that make me look like an unfit parent?

We'd need way more details about the entire situation. And even then, we can only offer our educated opinions. Guesses. It will ultimately be up to the courts.

There's more to being a fit parent that just where you live.

Where and how old are the children? Also, sleeping arrangements (at least in NY) are also very important. Do you have beds for the children (if you are considering overnight visitation)?

    Is the other parent unfit?

I don't think your situation makes you unfit but I do think the Court would hestitate to give you sole, total custody.

Where are the children now? Who has custody?
