    Xp what is the white secreen with error message
    Dear
    I have Dell laptop model C600
    Atfer I switch on the system , it show DELL , booting up bar then suddenly I receive this message
    White Screen and Message
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    The following message is displayed in white letters on a white background.

    The device in the system modular bay cannot be identified. It may not be completely inserted or may have some other problem. Please read and complete the following steps in order:

    1. press the device completely and firmly into the bay.
    2. press the esc key wait for the system to power down.
    3. press pwr button try redetecting the device.

    Do I need to instal the OS again, if so how I can do, help me out from this problem

    Sounds like your computer is a laptop. Try removing the CD-drive from the modular bay and then reboot. In fact, I'd remove whatever is in both bays, reinsert the battery, and reboot. You're trying to determine which component is causing the problem.

    I did a little research, and it seems that either the cd drive is loose or the hard drive is loose.

    Check out troubleshooting section in your manual - should be some info there.

    Quote:

    system modular bay cannot be identified
    Could be something like the hard drive, cd rom drive, the battery may not be seated correctly.

    Check those out and possibly, if possible, try to remove those devices and reseat them and make sure good connection
    -seems system board cannot recognize an item connected to the laptop
