    How to loosen brass fittings
I cannot loosen a bathtub faucet with a wrench. Will heat help to loosen the brass fittings?

    Hi Npatka:

Tell us a bit more about the faucet you are trying to remove? Is this a clawfoot tub faucet? How accessible are the fittings? What tools are you using?

If a clawfoot tub faucet then the best tool for loosening the nuts will be a large CRESCENT WRENCH or a BASIN WRENCH... see images.

Heating the fittings shouldn't be necessary, but could be used as a last resort.

    Let us know more...
