    That's the one thing police most look out for... and yes, it is still illegal to exceed the speed to limit to overtake another car.

    Well you may be guilty BUT.

    Always go and plead either not guility or nolo OR, see if your state allows you to take a drivers course and pay a "fee" and have it dismissed.

    I know GA and TN both have programs where on your first ticket ( as long as it is not over certain limits) you can apply at the clerks office and get a form, you take a drivers course, pay a fee to the court equal to the fine and they dismiss the ticket.

    Also in many areas you can plead NOLO on one ticket and no points will be assigned. You will have to pay all of the fines.

    If you can't do those, always show up and plead not guilty, if the officer does not show up, you can ask the judge to dismiss the case
