    Satisfied judgment lifted
I had a small business that went belly up. I had a judgement against me for the total cost. I allowed the loan agency take possession of the building and the money owed was satisfied. However, the original judgement is still on my record. How can I get it removed?

It will expire after 7 years. But it should be listed as satisfied.

Correct the fact there was a judgement ( court action) remains for 7 to 10 years ( can't remember for sure ) but the status changes from open and unpaid to paid or satisfied so that creditors can tell you did pay it.

You could I assume challenge it on the credit report, and if they don't confirm it, then it could be taken off. But since it is a valid entry, it should remain.
