I want to marry my boyfriend that is in the state pen. I have went to the court house where I stay and the county clerk says he needs to be here with me. So I ask for an affidavit. She inform me they don't do that. What do I need to do?? Can someone help me out??

He does need to be present for a marriage to take place, you will also need witnesses to sign the marriage license or certificate, and someone to oversee the whole ordeal.

Contact the chaplian at the prison,
1. first he will tell you if they allow that at this prison or not. Some do, others don't

2. he can then tell you what others do to get the marriage license.

What is he in for ? And why would you want to marry someone in prison ?
