Can I be denied a green card in the US if I am a Canadian with an arrest in Canada?
I am a canadian in the US on a K1 fiancée Visa. I have had a minor theft charge and arrest in Canada. I was released and completed an alternative measures program. I did about 3 weeks of Community Service, wrote a letter of apology and wrote an essay recognizing what I did was wrong. To my knowledge, an arrest showed up when I crossed the border into the US to move here on the Visa. (US Customs had my fingerprints in the Visa package, ran them and it came up. I was questioned very briefly as to what it was for, answered honestly and they allowed me through. My question is, will I or can I be denied a Green Card based on this? Because with the I-485 form, I have to provide police records, evidence of the completed Alternate Measures program and my fingerprints. And my understanding is that the FBI checks the prints. Any insight would be helpful.

I strongly recommend having immigration attorney submit I-485 for you.
