    What operating systems did you put on the computer, and in what order. Where was the first operating system? Where was the second operating system?

    Do you have the installation disks for both operating systems?

    I suspect you deleted the active partition and didn't make the remaining partition active. If that's the problem, it should be able to be fixed. I just read an article today about removing XP after installing Windows 7 in a dual-boot configuration:

    Hi Perito,
    My computer came with XP,I added UBUNTU.
    I only have an installation disk for UBUNTU .
    I want to get XP back, can you help.

    I think that when you deleted Ubuntu you also deleted the boot-up manager (usually GRUB) which lives in the Master Boot Record. I have to leave now but you may want to research using your XP disk to repair the MBR.

    Let disk load, use repair setting. It will bring you to a prompt. Type:

    Fixmbr {return}
    Foxboot {return}

    {return} being the enter key.
