Maytag washer: drain pipe overflows during rinse cycle HELP!
 I have a new Maytag washer. (top load). During the drain cycle I hear the water pumping out but then the water comes back and will overflow at the top of the pipe and on the floor.
The old washer did not have this problem. We used a snake, draino etc etc. in the pipe.
Sometimes it will NOT overflow and other times it will. I have had the washer about a week.
What on earth could be happening?

Your new washer most likley has a stronger pump than the older one does.
Your plumbing may not be suited to handle the extra load.

As this is not a problem with the appliance yourself, more so, the actuall plumbing of the house, you will probobly have better luck posting this in the plumbing board. There are three experts in there that are undoubtably top in their game.

Thank you Andrew for your help and suggestions. I went to the 'plumbing" board and posted there.Paula
