What color can be dyed over bleached hair?
I have a bit of a bizarre situation. My hair has been bleached and dyed and colored and fried more times then I can count. Well a few months ago after conditioning my hair religiously with many different products my fried hair was finally starting to get life back in it. Since I'm clearly an idiot who didn't learn from past mistakes I decided to dye my hair blue just for fun as it was semi-permanent and I've used this hair product before.
Well long story short I didn't like the blue and spent weeks and weeks soaking it with hot water and shampooing it up to 3 times a day in the shower. Now it's like a lime green with my natural roots growing out on top so it looks ridiculous.
My aunt is a professional hair stylist and luckily will be fixing my hair for free and I have confidence she will get the green out and will be cutting my hair much shorter to get most of the dead ends off. My only problem is I once tried to dye my hair myself when it was bleached and I had horrid results. I tried to dye it a pretty auburn red bu it came out like a candy apple cherry red and bled out within 3 days leaving my hair bleached with weird pinkish tints all over.
To fix this I had it dyed brown but it looked horrible on me. Brown hair and black hair though I adore those colors just don't suit my skin well. I only look good as a blonde or a redhead but I don't want to have bleached out hair with my rooth showing anymore. Is there any color I can use over bleached hair that will actually stick and look nice? My aunt says she will be using a filler of some sort but I had a bad experience with this when another hair dresser used a filler that was just water and saline and dyed my hair a pretty auburn but it also faded after a week. My aunt claims that this wasn't a filler and that hair dresser is a lunatic but I'm still very worried. I desperately want a nice color that won't wash me out that can be safely used over bleached hair and I've vowed to never touch my hair with bleach again. At least not for another 5 years lol.
Is there any hope for me or do I just have to sit and grow it out?
