    Nec regulations
It is my understanding that there is a NEC regulation for automobile lifts that states that any lighting system must power off within 18" of the ground. Where do I find this NEC regulation to review and what is the NEC reg number?

Sure, make him do his own research TK. Here is a little help.

I think you will find it is not about the lift or lights at all but is about the classification of the area they are located in.

I gave the information that was requested.

You mean wiring a commercial garage is not a DIY project? How about a handyman? :D :p
