After 1 month of use the insides burned up .is this a thing that happens to this model

Call the manufacturer and ask. Noma is not considered a high quality thermostat.

We had one of these overheat as well. Got a number to call, they advised it was a recalled item and were going to send a replacement. That never arrived and now I'm starting the search again to locate the company that deals with the customer service (It's not called NOMA) We had a few emails from them but never got any reply to our last one.
