Wait propane heater pilot light assembly
I was recently given an older waite propane space heater and tried to light the pilot light. It wouldn't light so I took the line off from the control box to the pilot light assembly. The pilot light end of the line has a block in it that appears to be from factory, of course there can be no gas going through with the block in there, so I removed the block which is a small aluminum tube with a solid end. The pilot light then lit but I am wondering why was it there? Also there is no temp controller, why? Thanks

I suggest you contact the manufacturer for a manual for your exact model. It is also recommended that only authorised personel repair these heaters due to the oxygen depletion sensor. These units can kill you even if adjusted properly.
