Size of furnace
Size of home
Temperature outside
Temperature inside
How often is it cycling

Anything else?

Ideally, 3 to 6 times per hour, depending on system type & outside temp. Anything more than 6 becomes somewhat inefficient and suggests a problem with thermostat response.
