I just had a kohler shower head and new valve installed ever since then we have about 10 min of hot water then turns to luke warm any ideas of what's wrong does it have something to do with the installation or is it just a coinsadence

When your shower turns cool is the rest of your faucets remain cool also or just the shower? Let me know. Tom

Check your water heater. When was the last time you drained it out? You might end up replacing your elements cost you about $20+ depending on element.

How big is your heater ? What is the water flow for your new shower head ?

But it sounds just about right. 4 GPM shower head will deplete hot water in about 10 minutes.

The first thing I would have checked is the elements. If one were bad you would run out of hot water quite rapidly. I have a 30 gallon counter top heater that will give me about 10 minutes of hot water through my "rain shower" head.

Think it is a rain shower head so how would I fix this problem now... my girlfriend can't even fill the tub to take a bath any suggestions on how to get more hot water then just 10 min worth

A short supply of hot water could also be a broken dip tube.

I do not picture one shower head causing this problem. You got 2 plumbers and an installer trying to help you. We will figure something out.

Unless you tell us what size is your hot water - we won't be able to do too much for you. Also, what's your gln/m flow out of that rain shower head ?

Notice that they can't fill the tub either. Rules out the shower head.

One thing that comes to mind, is if this is a single lever shower valve where is it positioned when the temp is about right?

Center? All the way to hot? You can adjust te amount of cold water entering the mixing valve.

What temperature is the hot water set at? That can increase time too.

Very possible... but even not having all the info about his w/h, than...

If he has 40 gln w/h and tub spout dispenses 4gln of water per minute, he'll get about 8-10 minutes of hot water. Than water will become luke warm. With 50 gln heater, he'll get another 90 seconds of hot water. This is true especially in winter months...

Howerer, it appears to me his plumbing system is a National Security Secret and he is not about to release this info to us just for that reason... :D

We need to know the size of your heater and if its gas or electric. Like I said yesterday a bad dip tube can cause you to have a sort supply of hot water, a single bad element in any electric heater can't keep up and will act the same.
