On F-1/CPT you are exempt from residency for 5-years. You must file non-resident tax return Form 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ. Your income is not subject to SS tax and Medicare tax. You will pay federal income tax.
On W-4, you should claim one allowance. Your U.S. Tax Return: U.S. Tax Filing Requirements for Non-Residents

    Ram:

If you are single, then, under IRS withholding rules for foreign nationals, your withholding allowance on Form W-4 should be no more than ONE.
