    There is current coming to the outlet however lights plugged in to it won't come on?

    First off, you have voltage, not current. Semantics I know, but I think it needed clarification.

    How did you test for voltage? It is very possible to get a reading and have a loose or compromised connection somewhere preventing completion of the circuit.

    I think Stan was asking what kind of tester you used. Was it a Multimeter, Non-Contact voltage detector, Receptacle tester or something else?
