Why blood pressure will not go down after taking medication?
I have been taking for four days high blood pressure meds, first was clonidine, then lisinopril and my blood pressure stays the same.

I also take pills for hypertension and it takes more than a few days for the pills to work and for blood pressure to stabilize. Also make sure you make good lifestyle choices like eating less salt, fat and sugar and more fiber, fruits and vegetable, exercise, don't smoke and try to limit stress.

Clonidine takes at least 4 days. Lisinopril may take 2-3 weeks or as long as a month. Peak concentration should occur about 6 hrs after dosing.

What are we talking about in terms of your blood pressure and pulse?

    Before/After?

When how are you taking the BP?

    What dosage?

    Weight? BMI?

    Any other major health conditions?

    Kidney issues?

    Was the BP issue sudden?

    Salt intake?

    Water intake?

Yes, give it some time, and keep watching the pressure over several weeks
