Is my data categorical or quantitative
I have a data set of: the average number of comedies released worldwide and the average number of dramas released worldwide.

I think that data is quantitative because the number and comedies and the number of dramas is a number, and not a yes/no answer (which would make it categorical data).

Am I correct in this decision?

    I only have two numbers:
163 comedy movies were released worldwide in 2008 and 251 drama moves were released worldwide in 2008.

I got a mean of 207 and the standard deviation of 44.

    Is this correct as well?

Okay, just one more question. Since my data is categorical, I have can either be discrete or continuous.

I am pretty sure it is discrete.

    Am I right?

Hm... is there anywhere your data was categorical

In your first question, it was quantitative.

Ah, sorry. I meant "since my data is quantitative..." Sorry for the confusion.

Yes, you're right. We cannot have half a movie being released :p

Just out of curiosity, was there a number that you came across about movies that were categorized as both? And then how would you go about analyzing this?
