I'm guessing that you are asking about work credits for social security - is that right? Your credits are dependent on the amount of your social security wages each year, and hence also the amount that your employer has withheld from your paycheck. Or are you self employed, and so have not yet paid your self-employment SS tax?

I am self employed. Taxes are filed but not yet paid. I filed for disability but was denied because of not enough credits

You do not get the credits until the taxes are paid.
