I have served 3 years 4 months of a 4 year sentence. I received a travel permit to Alabama when my dad died and did not return to Tennessee. Will they come get me? I am almost 700 miles away from where I am on probation.

There is no guaranteed answer - sometimes the authorities do. Sometimes they don't. There is "most probably" a warrant for your arrest which will keep you from renewing your drivers license in any State.
Warrants never expire.
Hello b:
Well, I for one, think they'll come get you... Law enforcement isn't in the business of giving breaks to anyone. If you were to commit a major crime while you're in Alabama, and it came out that some bureaucrat decided NOT to extradite you, he's going to be in big trouble...
Do I think you'll get caught?? I do. Most people can't avoid having their ID run sometime or other. As Judy said, you won't be able to get a drivers license...
I'd go back. If you do it on your own, they might not even put you in jail for splitting.. But, if they catch you, you're going to do a lot of time...
You ARE aware, aren't you, that it doesn't matter HOW much time you put in on probation?? If they violate you, even on your last day of probation, you can be made to serve the ENTIRE underlying sentence... So, you're not looking at a few months in the slam. You're risking YEARS.

While they may not go "hunting you" ** well in Al they may, they love a good hunt there
But what happens they wait till you get stopped for a traffic problem, or when you apply for a new drivers license or get stopped for some reason.
Then they hold you till they check with TN. Who ever is the officer in charge of that department that day and they get on the phone makes the choice.
So
1 how bad do they want you
2.the crimes you were arrested for
3. pressure put on them from victims
4. election years when they want to get tough on crime
If they don't keep you that time, they do it all over again each time they stop you.
If you are in AL and they want you in TN, yes they will normally take you , since it is not really that far, they will take you from one department up a few, several times by car most likely
OK.they won't hunt you down! But if your run for any reason , they will take you in ,and yes they will bring you back to tennesse.. I ran for three years, was ran and my violation hit.. they locked me up and found out I had holds.. so yes the best thing to do is get it took care of.. you will loss all your time you was on.. or they will reinstate your probation, depends on the judge and your officer, if you was paying and in good standing with your officer she or he will talk for you to the judge.. just turn yourself in and get it over with... IT Don't PAY TO RUN!! Your violation never expires no matter what anyone says... what county did you get your charges in?
If you are from Illinois on felony probation an come to ten. Will they extradtide me back.
