    Ugly leg scars
Hi I'm female with dark brown skin, when I was 12 I broke my leg and the doctors had put a steel pin through it, about 5cms down from my knee (in one side and out the other) so I have 2 little scars on my right leg, which are about 2cms each I have never worn a skirt or shorts I can't even go to the beach, I have low self esteem cause of these scars, 10yrs later they are dark 2 medium brown still noticeable and where the scars are it looks like my skin is gone in only about 5mm (like 2 little dents) this is what makes them more noticeable
Please Help,Surgery is not an option
I have attached a picture of my scars
    Thanxx for looking

Scars result when the skin repairs wounds caused by accident, diseases, or surgery. They are a natural part of the healing process. The more the skin is damaged and the longer it takes to heal, the greater the chance of a noticeable scar.

Your scar seems to be permanent since it has not faded over the years and has dents. Your best option is to have them surgically removed. But, if surgery is not an option for you. Try using silicone-containing gels, creams, and bandages to help reduce the scars. You can also use home dermabrasion kits or chemical peels. These procedures will smooth depressed scars and give the skin a more even color.
