Our building had new cedar shake siding put on 1 and 1/2 years ago. It has weathered unevenly and looks like someone threw mud on the building. We are thinking of putting on a solid stain to make it look good. What is your opinion?

Solid stain is very much like paint, have you considered semi solid, it soaks into the wood better. You will need to prep the cedar with a wood siding wash and power washer held at a safe distance from the surface.
