    What time frame does a store have to press shoplifting charges if caught on video
    When caught for shoplifting on security cam. Can you still be charged with shoplifting even though you were not caught red handed. What is the time frame that a store can charge you if it is on video. This happened in Canada.

    I don't know Canadian law, but if it happened here in the US, they'd have a YEAR to bring charges.

    From what I can read Canadian Law is the same.

    Yes, it is normally a year, depending of course on the value. If you took something of very high value to make it a felony it can be 3 years I believe.

    They can wait of course till you go back into that store, or if it is a chain, send your photo to all of their stores to be on the lookout for you
