I had a plumber pre plumb drain under floor for my sink relocation. He ran vent from this new pre plumb and back to existing vent so everything is under the floor as of now. My question is do I install p trap just under my sink or a sraight pipe through floor and put p trap under floor to make sure the vent is going to work properly or does it matter. Thanks

Did the plumber leave a stub out coming out of the wall for you to connect to? You indicate that he did not. A sanitary tee will have to be cut into the vent 18 " off the floor and brought out of the wall. Your "P" trap will connecr to that. If the plumber didn't leave you a stub out then the rough in isn';t complete. Good luck, tom

Neither one's acceptable. #1 is a "S" trap outlawed in all 50 states and Canada and #2 Has too long a draop to the trap but if I had to choose between #1 and #2 I'd go with #2.

No it's not a island but might have to arrange drain as one, I have moved kitchen sink from one wall to the other if yo could refer to diagram and show me a sketch of how I should finish this I would greatly appreciate it.

If it isn't an island sink then you can just finish it as you drew up in picture #2. The idea here is that the pipe that comes out of the PTRAP (under the floor in this case) should not exceed 24".

To pipe this up as an island sink is tons of work. Otherwise, to pipe up any other way would require you to run a whole new vent upstairs.. OR install a mechanical vent above the floor.

I'd go with option #2... as long as the pipe in basement is vented you will be fine!
