I'm sooooo depressed, I have cried so much my head hurts
Earlier today we found a Husky, he was so sweet and nice. I kept him in my backyard for awhile. Then my mom got home. She wanted to call the pound, but I looked on the website and it said that strays only have 72 hours and then it gets put down. So I said no. Then she want me to just let him go where we found him. (We found him wandering on all the door steps in the neighborhood). We let him go and my mom said that if he is still here by tomorrow, then we can work on finding his home. Can anyone help me take the pain away? I am a big dog lover so this stuff hurts me.

Please don't answer saying that I'm a bad person because I already know that. Thanks:(

First of all loving a creature means you are a tremendously nice person and not at all bad. Of course you must respect your mother's wishes for not keeping him. Don't worry, if you neighborhood like mind strays live forever. But the best cure to any worry is doing something about it. How about you start designing a flyer and a plan for finding a good home for the dog? Can you think of anyone who would be allowed to have a dog (and want it)? Make a list. Can you think of what you will do if the dog comes back?

Most importantly, remember you are not a bad person - you just can't do things without your mom's permission but you fought for the life of a helpless animal. You are obviously a very kind, sympathetic and lovely person. SMILE!

First it is not your dog, from the look of it was it well taken care of, well feed and more.?

Are there other shelters , I know here there are several private ones that rescue animals.

Most likely he'll wander around until somebody recognizes him, and takes him home. There are likely people (including kids) very upset that he is gone.

There are also 'no kill' shelters, perhaps in a nearby town if he has to go to one. Flyers is a good idea too.

Anybody who cares so much for an animal, and its well being, is OK in my book.
