    Installing New Oven
We recently moved and our basement needs work. I would like to put an oven somewhere in the basement. If I'm not mistake it needs a 30A Breaker correct? I looked at the breaker box and noticed that there are some space for a 30A breaker but how will install the breaker in the panel? I know I should turn off the main breaker first but are there any other precautions before I tackle this job? Any pointers or help will be greatly appreciated.

Most breakers snap or plug into place. Turn off main breaker, remove cover. To remove a breaker, turn to off position. Then continue pushing on on/off lever toward the outboard edge of the panel, the breaker should unplug or break from the electrical connection in the center of the panel. Unsnap or unhook from mounting bar. To install a breaker hook or snap to mounting bar on outer end, rotate toward center and snap into place. Check the amperage requirements of the stove. Unless it is a very, very small stove it will require more than 30 amps.

Like HK said, check the rating of the unit. Not all ovens/ranges are created equal.
