    Walking Vs. Running
If walking at 3.5 mph when a car dashes by how can we determine at what speed it was going based on the following conditions, from the time it passed to its dissappearance I took 27 steps and by time I reached the corner it was an additional 135 steps more.
What was the speed of the car?

I think you're missing some information.

We know that the walker is walking at 3.5 mph. However, we do not know the number of steps he takes per unit distance or the number of steps per unit time. Therefore, we cannot calculate the time that has elapsed nor the distance walked. If you provide that information, the question is soluble.

You could make some assumptions, and that would make it possible to figure the question out.
