    That black PVC is really ABS and this is what you're looking for to join the two.(see image). Follow directions use onbly on drainage, not on water pipe. Good luck, Tom

    Tom, I'm not familiar with that can, what brand is it? Been buying Oatey for so long I just call out colors and it gets me what I need.

    Hi Everyone...

    If you can't find the oatey or the hercules brands of the transition cements you could also cement a PVC female adapter onto the PVC and an ABS male adapter onto the ABS and then use some pipe dope or a little reflon tape and simply screw the two different types of plastic together.

    You could also use a SHIELDED COUPLING... see image. These are sold at all home improvement stores.

    All these methods are acceptable methods of joining dissimilar plastics... ;)
