Sitting in jail in the wrong county
My hubby's PO told him that if he didn't find a job before a certint date he would send him to jail so when he didn't have a job by that date he went to the county that his crime was committed in and turned himself in. the day before he left he was charged for petty theft in the county we actually live in... now the county he's being held in won't sentence him till our conty does for the petty theft. So I don't understand why he's still sitting in the other county instead of being sent here so he can get sentenced here... how does it work... im sick of waiting this long to be told he should have only been in for a month its almost been a full 2 months and I'm going crazy w/o him

    Hello n:

There's a LOT wrong here, beginning with the fact the PO violated your hubby WITHOUT a hearing... It ALL went down hill from there...

I can't figure it out. He needs a lawyer. Without one, he's at their mercy.

    Hello again, n:

If she's doing her job she would. But, letting him turn himself in WITHOUT a violation hearing indicates that she's NOT doing her job. Maybe you should find a NEW lawyer.

    Hello again, n:

Relax. Call the attorney and let her handle it. IF this is an attorney from the PD's office, she might NOT represent him now... You need to be clear about that with her.

If she IS representing him, let her do her work, and ask her to keep in touch with you.. If she isn't representing him, he needs a new attorney. He is NOT legally entitled to a free one at this point.
