I want to hookup all my components (cable/tv, VCR, iPod, turntable) into my stereo receiver and have the VCR home theater surround system provide the sound.

The JVC CD/VDV home theater system has a subwoofer box that connects to the DVD player vis an 8 prong cable that looks like an S-video cord. Therefore, I cannot connect the subwoofer and all the surround speakers to my receiver.
