I recently purchased a newer house, build in 2001 and the upstairs, and top of the basement stairway, has an odor during certain days in colder months. Smell not noticeable in summer months. Any ideas as to where odor is originating from?

What does the odor resemble? Do you see any potential exterior entry points for critters? Have you ventured into the attic to investigate?
