I ordered a new pull chain switch from Hunter and I want to install it myself. It's configured a bit differently than the original.

The switch has 4 slots on the side like the original (Well Tec) and also 4 small round holes on the top.

Can someone tell me where and how to connect the fan wires. I do know what colors go to each connector (#1 gray, #2 brown, #3 green, L black).

If it is a Hunter fan, and you ordered a replacement switch from Hunter, it should match exactly. What did they send you?

Usually it's
L - Black, 1 - Grey, 2 - Brown, 3 - Purple

I just re-read your post. It sounds like Hunter sent you the wrong switch. Is it for a Hunter fan?

You probably need a basic L-1-2-3 switch. SP3T
