Filing claim in small claims court is there a time limit?
I completed a renovation job for a neighbour in February 2009. Was paid only partial sum, now neifgbour has sold house, made large profit due to quality of my renovations, hasn't responded to payment demands. Can I wait until January 01 2010 to sue for full sum owing or should I file before then? Difference is a couple of thousand dollars. Please advise.

Can I delay filing in Toronto small claims court until January 2010, to recover full sum for renovation job done in February 2009?

I don't quite understand your question. You had an agreement/contract to be paid $X for the work you did. Whether that work enables the owner to sell for more money is immaterial.

You are only due/owed the original $X.
