I am in NY state and my ex boyfriend and I own a house together I live in and he moved out three years ago he is now taking me to court to make me sell the house or buy him out can he make me sell? The mortgage is in both names

Who is paying the mortgage? Can you afford it by yourself?

You can't have him put the deed just in your name since you are both on the mortgage.

1. You pay the mortgage yourself and maybe he can leave you alone
Or
2. You get approved for a refinance with a loan (mortgage) only in your name and have his name taken off the deed,

Otherwise, you just may have to sell the house!
