Reverse a payroll deduction in the GL
By accident I took out Social Security payment from an employee which already had reached the $106,800.- this year and I was not supposed to take out SS anymore, I need to give the money back to the employee, how will I reverse it correct in the GL?

    I appreciate any help!

The word REVERSE is very important here.
You need to reverse the original entry by the
    Amount that you deducted incorrectly.
It is as easy as that.
In Accounting the positive is very easy to deal with, somehow people find difficulty in dealing with the negative.
