I have a 2002 ford windstar. My key will not turn. The steering, brakes, and gear shift are all locked. I have tried turning the wheel back and forth. No luck. I have tried rocking it. No luck. Yesterday a friend bumped hard underneath the steering wheel and finally it cranked. After turning it back off I'm back to the same problem.

Try spraying key and lock with WD-40.

This has happened to me many times. Try putting the key in the ignition but don't turn it but turn the steering wheel or (giggle) it really back and forth and as your giggling the wheel try to see if the key then turns.. I hope this works for you. Good Luck!
Ps. Sometime it is something ridiculous like a safety feature. Maybe one of your doors or door locks are stuck.. just a thought
